Community based water organizations undergo an intensive organizational development training with the goal of creating a self-sustaining water service centers that can self-fund their own community development. With this model, the organization assesses their community situation, identifies the need, seeks and implements the proper solution using a micro-business co-op model, thereby taking ownership of the project from start to finish. ASD assists organizations to become production facilities offering appropriate water technologies as a micro-business and/or a multi-purpose co-operatives. Co-operatives pool human resources and talent to build capital and work together to produce more goods and raise incomes. This eliminates the dependence on outside funding and creates a resourceful and self-reliant organization.
